Graphic Standards for Using the SummerActive Logo

The SummerActive logo is a registered trademark that event leaders, groups and communities can use to identify activities for SummerActive 2008.

The logo was created to raise awareness of SummerActive as a community-driven opportunity for Canadians to improve their health by taking their first steps towards regular physical activity, healthy eating, living a tobacco-free lifestyle and participating in sport activities.

Anyone participating in SummerActive 2008 is invited to use the logo under the following conditions:

Using the Logo on Your Own Materials

If you are producing promotional materials to encourage participation in your own SummerActive event, you can incorporate the SummerActive logo into the design by downloading the logo files on this page.

Permission to use the SummerActive logo in its correct graphic style is in effect only until the last day of the SummerActive 2008 initiative.

Commercial vs. Non-Commercial Use of the SummerActive Logo

Commercial use of the SummerActive logo is strictly prohibited. Commercial use is when the logo is reproduced directly or indirectly on any product or object intended to be marketed or resold in any manner.

You can use the SummerActive logo on all printed material directly related to promotion of your activity or event, such as letterhead, public service announcements, newspaper ads, posters, flyers, invitations and so on.

Businesses that sponsor registered local SummerActive 2008 events can have their corporate logos appear along with the SummerActive logo on all print materials that are directly related to the advertising and promotion of the event(s) they sponsor.

Please note, however, that in keeping with the physical activity and healthy eating message, there can be no association with tobacco, liquor or beer companies.

Communities may use the SummerActive logo in conjunction with the name of their town/city and/or city crest, logo or department name.

Using the Name without the Surrounding Graphics

When using the program name in any text, it should be written in the following way:

  • SummerActive 2008

Note the capital ‘A’ in active and the fact that there should not be a space between the words ‘Summer’ and ‘Active’.

These are not acceptable versions of the name:

  • Summeractive
  • Summer Active
  • Summer active
  • Summer-active
  • Summer-Active
SummerActive is brought to you by the Government of Canada in collaboration with provincial and territorial governments.
